About OAK

Oakland San Francisco Bay Airport is the main airport for the greater East Bay, the most populated area in the metropolitan San Francisco Bay area. It is the closest airport to most Bay Area employers. By roadway and BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) air-rail, OAK enables excellent access to all the region’s business, entertainment, and tourism venues. The vision of OAK is to be the airport of choice for San Francisco Bay Area residents and visitors alike. OAK is operated by the Port of Oakland, which also oversees the Oakland seaport and 20 miles of East Bay waterfront. Together with its business partners, the Port supports more than 98,000 jobs in the region with more than a $174 billion economic impact.

Media On-Site Request

OAK supports the needs of the news media to get photos, b-roll and to conduct recorded and live interviews for their stories. Media representatives must be credentialed and should submit a Media On-Site Request Form prior to coming out to the airport. Be prepared to show media credentials and a driver’s license to and have the vehicle searched by Alameda County Sheriff representatives prior to parking in OAK’s “Live Media” parking area. The Live Media stalls may be used only when covering a story or event at OAK. All other media vehicles may park in the public lots located across from the terminals.

To contact OAK Media Relations, members of the media may call the OAK Media Hotline at (510) 563-6500.
