Oakland International Airport Prepared for Busy Memorial Holiday Weekend

 

Summer Travel Kicks off Friday; Free Parking Available for Europe & Hawaii Trips

Oakland, CA: (May 23, 2019) — This Memorial Day holiday weekend at San Francisco Bay Oakland International Airport (OAK) is expected to welcome approximately 163,000 travelers over the four-day holiday travel period. Memorial Day Weekend, which begins this Friday, May 24th, and extends through Monday, May 27th, signals the unofficial start of the summer travel season.

The Airport expects to see high passenger volume, on par with recent years. Tomorrow, Friday, May 24, is projected to be Oakland’s busiest travel day over the Memorial Day holiday weekend, with 43,000 passengers expected to pass through the gates at OAK.

OAK’s summer flight schedule will offer 180 peak day departures to 64 domestic and international destinations.

Travel Smart, Arrive Early

Oakland International encourages travelers to prepare to enjoy this holiday weekend by arriving early for departures. For the best experience traveling through OAK this busy travel season, we suggest following these TSA guidelines to get you through the Airport and to your destination.
