Allegiant Air Announces Service Between OAK and Eugene, Oregon

— First-Time Ever Service from OAK; Two Weekly Flights —

Las Vegas-based airline, Allegiant Air, recently announced plans to offer low-cost, nonstop service between San Francisco Bay Oakland International Airport (OAK) and Eugene Airport (EUG) beginning June 8, 2009. This important new service marks the first-ever nonstop flights between OAK and Eugene, the second largest city in the state of Oregon.

“We are pleased that Allegiant Air plans to continue growing in Oakland,” said Steve Grossman, director of aviation for the Port of Oakland, which owns and operates OAK. “Now, travelers have a convenient link between the San Francisco Bay Area and Eugene, a key gateway to Oregon, and the growing Pacific Northwest region. These flights will have a positive impact on tourism-related industries.”

Allegiant uses 150-seat MD-80 jet aircraft. The approximate 85-minute flights will operate twice weekly with service on Monday and Friday. Flights will operate as follows:
